Our story is one of determination, hard work, and a commitment to excellence. Founded in 2010 by Matt Abbott, our firm began as a small practice with a passion for justice and a desire to make a difference in the lives of our clients.
Our journey is one of humble beginnings to where we are today.
I started this law firm founded on hard working American values. I strive to be the lawyer that cuts the BS, calls it like I see it and does what I say I’m going to do. All this while remaining genuine, honest and straightforward. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Sometimes that ruffles feathers. Sometimes it takes an outlaw to get justice. Sometimes it takes an Outlawyer.
I will earn your trust by “shooting you straight” and filtering all the legal speak and fluff. I call it like I see it.
Fair and honest lawyers do exist, and I’ll prove to I am one of them.
2025 marks my 25th year practicing personal injury law. I’ve never worked for an insurance company.
Many awards and accomplishments have been given, but performance and results speak the loudest.
Matt Abbott, “The Outlawyer,®” proudly represents the legal needs of those with personal injury and wrongful death claims. He focuses on the litigation areas of tractor-trailer accidents, automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, premises liability and defective product liability. Matt is a trial lawyer who makes insurance companies pay full value on claims they don’t want to. He and his legal team strive to make sure his clients are informed, educated, and up to speed on their cases so they have all the information needed to make informed decisions. His goal is to ensure they feel as comfortable as they can throughout the litigation process. Matt grew up in Pell City, Alabama, moving to Huntsville in 1987. Matt graduated from Grissom High School then Calhoun Community College at the Decatur campus. During this time, and for spending money, Matt drove a forklift and was a rock band drummer, eventually moving to Auburn to complete his bachelor’s degree in 1997. In 2000, Matt graduated from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University as Class President, then was admitted to the State Bars of Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia where he is recognized to practice in all state and federal courts. Matt began his practice with a large Birmingham personal injury law firm in 2000. He went on to work with a smaller firm in Pell City, St. Clair County, Alabama, eventually opening his own personal injury law firm in 2007. Since that time, Matt has represented clients all over the state based out of his office in Birmingham, expanding in 2023 with a second office in Huntsville to serve the needs of the Tennessee Valley. In his personal time, Matt enjoys live music, cold beer, hunting/fishing, football and cooking.
